Happy All Saints Day! As we celebrate all the Saints in Heaven today, we wanted to share with you the favorite Saints of our Novices and Postulants. May the witness of the Saints inspire us all to become the saints God has made us to be.
Why is St. Therese of Lisieux your favorite Saint?
“She is my Confirmation Saint! St. Therese has a deep and profound love for the Lord that is also so relatable and practical that it can be applied to anyone in any state of life – she is the Doctor of Love for all in every ordinary moment! I also very much enjoy how humorous she is – she enjoys making jokes, such as when she made an elaborate wedding invitation for Jesus and herself and then read it to all her Novices; she is very witty and silly in her own way. She loved the Lord well in her own little way!”
Why is St. Michael the Archangel your favorite Saint?
“My current favorite is St. Michael the Archangel! It has been a large shift in my mind to go from focusing on the evil spirits that are discouraging me to the angels that are encouraging, protecting, and fighting for me throughout each day. St. Michael teaches me how to claim the armor and powerful sword that I also have as a daughter of God against the forces of self-centeredness and darkness! “
Why is St. Kateri Tekakwitha your favorite Saint?
“My favorite Saint is St. Kateri Tekakwitha because of her faithfulness to the Lord, despite how unpopular she became within her community. Her desire to belong completely to Christ is something that I long to imitate in the life of St. Kateri.”
Why is St. Catherine Laboure your favorite Saint?
“St. Catherine Laboure is one of my favorite saints because of her witness of obedience and humility. She was docile to the call of Our Lady as she received the vision of the Miraculous Medal and it was not revealed that she had been the one to receive the vision until after her death. St. Catherine Laboure, pray for us!”
Why is St. John Paul II your favorite Saint?
“My favorite saint is Pope Saint John Paul II! He is an example of how to live holiness as an adventure with Jesus and he promoted the dignity of the human person especially encouraging young people to become saints!”
Why is St. Therese of Lisieux your favorite Saint?
“A saint who I have become very close friends with since entering religious life has been St Therese of the Child Jesus. She invited me very playfully into a friendship with her by sending me the distinct yet gentle smell of roses (there weren’t ever any roses in sight). Therese has been teaching me how to offer the little roses that Mama gives me to Jesus in intercession for souls.”
Why is St. Philomena your favorite Saint?
“My favorite saint is St. Philomena. She’s my favorite because she was so courageous and strong in her commitment to God, even though she was so young. She wasn’t afraid of anybody or anything!”
Why is St. Clare of Assisi your favorite Saint?
“My favorite saint is St. Clare of Assisi. I love her humility and unwavering devotion to prayer and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Her courage and perseverance in the face of adversity continues to motivate me in my struggles.”
Why is St. Gemma Galgani your favorite Saint?
“My favorite saint is Saint Gemma Galgani, because of the relationship she had with her guardian angel, and her passionate love for Jesus.”
Why is St. Therese of Lisieux your favoriteSsaint?
“St. Therese was one the first saints to befriend me and is one of my favorites! She teaches me how to love God more, others more and how much I’m loved by God!”
