Room for Growth
The Novitiate House is located in East Baton Rouge, at the Cypress Springs Mercedarian Prayer Center on 17560 George O’Neal Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70817.
Jairo Leon, the architect, has designed this two-story, 14,574 square-foot building to match his design of the Convent, Divine Providence Chapel, and Ministry Center already present on the grounds.
The Novitiate House has the capacity to house 34 sisters, with two handicap accessible rooms, a chapel, library for studies, and more!

Timeline of the Project
October 10, 2021: Novitiate House Unveiled by Mother Rosario Vega, HMSS & Architect Jairo Leon in the Presence of Most Rev. Michael G. Duca, Bishop of the Diocese of Baton Rouge.
November 12, 2021: Blessing of the Grounds
January 26, 2023: Breaking Ground
May 4, 2024: Novitiate House Unveiling (Blessing & Open House)
June 10, 2024: Sisters began to move into the Novitiate House
June 17, 2024: Sisters in Formation spent their first night in the Novitiate House!
