Viva Jesús Eucarístico
As we celebrate National Vocation Awareness Week this year, each day, we will be sharing the stories of the new names of our five newly professed Sisters. On August 15, 2025, Sr. Alaina Marie Therese Furman, HMSS; Sr. Katie Amata Krantz, HMSS; Sr. Amanda Lucia Marie of the Love of God Hartwell, HMSS; Sr. Maria Beatriz Fidelis Galindo, HMSS; and Sr. Megan Maria Luz Henle, HMSS professed their First Vows.
It is the custom in our religious family that when we profess our First Vows, we can petition to add a religious name to our baptismal name. The religious names are an expression of God’s particular love and call for each of us in our consecrated life.
We pray that as you hear the stories behind the religious names of each of our newly professed Sisters, you may be inspired by their witness of how God’s love calls each of us to a unique vocation in the Church. We thank Jesus for all the young women who have said yes to His call within our Institute and ask Him to continue to bless us with holy and abundant vocations.
A Prayer for Mercedarian Vocations: O Mary, Mother of Christ the Eternal High Priest, and Mother of the Church, we come to you and humbly ask you to awaken new religious vocations for the service of the people of God, especially to the Mercedarian family. Strengthen our Catholic homes in faith which bears fruit; so that disciples and witnesses of your Son may be harvested from them. Touch the hearts of our young people, invite and bring them to the Heart of Jesus. May they grow in his warmth and in the mystery of total self-giving in service of the Gospel. Mother of Mercy, our Mother, bless us with holy vocations to the religious life and priesthood. Amen.
