Our Apostolate:
Extending the Eucharistic Kingdom of Christ

We are a contemplative-active Institute of Pontifical Right. Our apostolic mission is part of the nature of our Institute. This mission always flows from our intimate union with God, so that our witness brings to the world the great redemptive mystery of Christ the Redeemer, who gave himself for the life and salvation of all. This mission is conducted on behalf of the Church and in communion with her.
We are witnesses of Christ the Redeemer in his Eucharistic Mystery. For over 100 years, we have established schools and enlivened education centers, missions and other redeeming works which surface through the challenges that the world presents to us.

Catholic Education

Our presence in Catholic schools, through teaching and campus ministry, gives us the opportunity to inspire and form the minds of students and their families. We strive to:

Form each student to be a faithful imitator of Jesus Christ.

Cultivate a love for the Eucharist and Our Lady of Ransom.

Encourage God’s people to live the Eucharistic Celebration as the source and center of their lives.

Promote a spirit of communion, freedom, hard work and sacrifice in our school communities.

Cypress Springs Mercedarian Prayer Center

Because we know and believe that Catholic education is a lifelong journey, we established the Cypress Springs Mercedarian Prayer Center in Louisiana to serve young and old who are suffering from a debilitating or terminal illness.

As the Prayer Center is now also the home of the Encounter School of Ministry Baton Rouge Satellite Campus and the location for many day retreats, it continues to be a place of healing and evangelization where God’s people can find spiritual consolation, guidance, comfort, and peace.

You can find us serving in the U.S., Cuba, Guatemala, Mozambique, Honduras, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Spain, Italy, and Mexico. Through our international presence, we seek to follow our Mother Foundress who made her own the Gospel verse “I came to cast fire upon the earth and how I wish it were already blazing!" -Luke 12:49
