A Day in Our Life

This the typical schedule for a sister in formation from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Convent and School, while school is in session.



5:15 am   Rise
6:00 am   Morning Prayers & Lauds
6:30 am   Holy Sacrifice of the Mass 
7:00 am   Breakfast/ Reading of Gospel
7:30 am   Morning Duties
8:00 am    Apostolate

12:00 pm Midday Prayer & Lunch Following (with Spiritual Reading)
1:00 pm   Back to Apostolate
3:00 pm   Divine Mercy Chaplet 
5:15pm     Holy Rosary & Vespers
6:00 pm   Dinner/ Reading of Constitutions
6:45 pm   Varies 
8:00 pm   Compline
8:30 am   Grand Silence
10:00 am  Lights Out

Although not posted here explicitly, exercise and neighborhood walks are on the weekly schedule.

Activities done after dinner include but not limited to recreation, class, study time, free time. 

Each Sister in Formation 

Prays Lectio Divina for at least 30 minutes every day

We enjoy sharing the fruit of our Lectio Divina as a community on Saturday evenings within Vespers.
During Compline each day, we prepare for the next day by praying Lectio Divina with the Mass Readings.

Reads a Spiritual book for 30 minutes every day 

Receives an hour of individual Eucharistic Adoration every day during the week

Receives an hour of group Eucharistic Adoration on Saturdays and Sundays 

Meets with Mother Mistress every week for Colloquiums (One-on-One Meetings)

Rotates Sacristan duties on a monthly basis
