Our Apostolate

Mercedarian Sisters in the classroomOur apostolate: Establishing the Eucharistic Kingdom of Christ.

We are faithful daughters of the Church. By the grace of God, we have been entrusted with loving Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, with making reparation for the sins committed against such a sublime sacrament and with leading others to experience the love of Jesus for them.

For a little more than 100 years, the Mercedarian Sisters have sought to bring freedom to humankind through the Eucharist.

In the Eucharist and with the example of Mary, our Mother of Mercy, we discover the different captivities that enslave God’s people, especially the children and youth. We strive to help them experience the merciful love of God and  live in solidarity and communion with them as God lives in solidarity and communion with us in the Eucharistic mystery.

It can be said that every human being is a “communional person,” ontologically open to communion with the other, because he is ontologically dependent on communion with his Creator. (Scola p. 29)

Responding to the continuous call of Our Holy Mother Church, we have extended our apostolate to 12 different countries where, through the education of children and youth, we live out our call.

We have schools in Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Italy, Mexico, the United States, Spain and Venezuela; missions in Cuba, Guatemala, Mexico and Mozambique.

In our apostolate, we:

  • Lead others to love Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.
  • Spread devotion and filial love to Our Lady of Mercy.
  • Guide the children and youth to experience Jesus’ love for them in the Blessed Sacrament.
  • Evangelize God’s people to live the Eucharistic Celebration as the source and center of their lives.
  • Prepare the people of God to live a faith life that is expressed in their love of neighbor, especially those who are hindered through their captivities to live a life of holiness.
